At all times, the quality of any activity, work or labor was determined by the possession of the relevant competencies by a person (specialist). After all, competence is the ability to perform activities, the ability to perform actions. In modern conditions, specialists acquire the necessary skills directly in the process of professional and, in particular, higher education. This article discusses the possession of professional competence as a social need for teachers.
