HISTORIOGRAPHY OF PRELIMINARY DATA ON ETHNOGRAPHY OF KASHKADARYA AND SURKHANDARYA OASES
Keywords:
Historiography, ethnography, KashkadaryaAbstract
This article discusses the historiography of preliminary data on ethnography of Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya oases. It is noteworthy that the works of this period were written in the style of travelogues and memoirs, and in some of them the chauvinist spirit and political goals are clearly visible. Nevertheless, these data serve as an important source for determining the ethnic image of the population of the region in the XIX century.
