ENVIRONMENTAL CRISIS OF THE ARAL SEA AND ITS INFLUENCE ON THE NATURAL GEOGRAPHICAL CONDITIONS OF UZBEKISTAN
Abstract
The environmental crisis of the Aral Sea, once one of the largest inland water bodies in the world, represents a significant ecological catastrophe. This article explores the historical context of the Aral Sea's desiccation, analyzing its consequences on the natural geographical conditions of Uzbekistan. The research examines how this crisis has reshaped the region’s climate, soil composition, biodiversity, and human health. Furthermore, it highlights the impact on local economies, particularly agriculture and fisheries, and evaluates national and international efforts to mitigate the damage.
