The article describes the history of the formation of a traditional neighborhood community specific to the Uzbek people, as well as historical sources and literature related to the stages of its development. The issues of illumination of neighborhoods of the city of Tashkent are covered in the works of scientists of antiquity, the Middle Ages and later historical periods, including during the years of independence.
