This paper explores the multifaceted nature of discourses in linguistics, highlighting their significance in shaping our understanding of language and communication. It discusses the various theoretical frameworks that have been developed to study discourses, ranging from structuralist approaches to more contemporary post-structuralist and critical discourse analysis perspectives. The paper also examines the role of power, ideology, and context in influencing discourses, emphasizing the need for a multidisciplinary approach to fully grasp their complexities. Through an in-depth analysis, this paper aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the problem of discourses in linguistics.
